17 May 2011 by Mark White, 2 Comments

Did you miss us? With a successful tournament stream under our belt last month, Interrupted Gaming is back with another stream this weekend. We will be in Pearl, MS (just outside of Jackson) for Cinderslam 2 this Saturday! The tournament will feature Super Street Fighter IV, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat & Tekken 6, and we’re planning on streaming each of those games at some point during the day. Although the Internet at the venue hasn’t been tested, we’re hoping to provide you guys with a high quality stream once again.

More information on the tournament can be found here:

The action should begin around 12:00 P.M CST. Any schedule changes will be posted on my Twitter beforehand. Stop by and check out all of the action at our justin.tv stream!

We will have more information about upcoming streams very, very soon… sooner than you may think! Stay tuned!

Streaming Live This Weekend: ARK III Fighting Game Tournament

30 March 2011 by Mark White, No Comments

I’m proud to announce that Interrupted Gaming will be streaming the third installment of the Arkansas Regional Knockouts tournament series coming up this Saturday, April 2nd! Long time watchers will remember that we streamed ARK II back in July of last year. Despite a few hiccups that were out of our control, the broadcast was a success. I’m working very hard to make sure that this stream is even better than the last! As of right now, we will only be streaming Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter IV pools and (hopefully) a good chunk of the final matches for each of those games. There will be a ton of other tournament action going on at the venue though, so check out the thread on SRK for a full schedule and list of tournaments!

Some of the top players who will be in attendance:
• EG Justin Wong (Los Angeles, CA) – Widely considered the best player in America
Fubarduck (Austin, TX) – Legendary 3S player and owner of Arcade UFO
TWG Arthur (Dallas, TX) – Recently placed 9th in SSF4 at Final Round XIV, 2nd place in SF4 at ARK I
Lil Majin (Memphis, TN) – 1st place in BlazBlue/Tekken 6/Capcom vs. SNK 2 at ARK I, 1st place in Tekken 6 at ARK II
• Mike Weng (Little Rock, AR) – 3rd place in SF4 at ARK I, 3rd place in SSF4 at ARK II
…and many, many more!

We also have several sponsors and supporters that help make ARK III the awesome event that it is:
Conway Gaming Center is once again our gracious host for this event.
BrokenTier has provided us with shirts for tournament winners! These guys have some incredibly awesome shirt designs (several of which I personally own).
Game On Athlete/Game On Apparel has donated $50 for the bonus pot along with shirts! They have a really interesting concept: each shirt has a unique scannable barcode that will link directly to a player’s profile on their Game On Athlete site. Cool!
Shadaloo.eu has donated $50 for the bonus pot! They are a great European-based company specializing in custom fightsticks. Check out their work!
Borderland Games in Texarkana has donated $30 for the bonus pot! Not only do they buy and sell video games and accessories, they also host tournaments! Their next fighting game tournament will be sometime in mid-May, so check them out if you’re in the area.
DFW Fight Club will be providing us with setups for SSF4 and MvC3. ARK III is also a part of the ‘UPPER’-CUT Circuit, which will provide seeding points to top finishers in both SSF4 and MvC3 as well as several other games for the upcoming major ‘UPPER’-CUT Tournament on May 7th & 8th in Dallas.
Conway Bat Cave will also be providing us with equipment for the tournament!

If you can’t make it out to the venue, we hope to see you at the stream!

We’re Back!

28 March 2011 by Mark White, No Comments

After a very long hiatus, the site is back in action!

As you can see, we’ve got a fresh new look to go along with our relaunch. I still have a few more minor tweaks to make to the layout, but it is more or less in its finished state. Blog entries should be coming at you way more frequently than before. I have a TON of exciting things planned for the blog in the future, so stay tuned!

Contest Winners Announced!

19 July 2010 by Mark White, No Comments

After over 4,000 miles of driving, the Road to EVO finally wound its way back home to good ol’ Magnolia, Arkansas. Over 60 hours of in-car time were spent over the 11 day period. Despite the ridiculous amount of traveling over the week, I had a blast! And finally, it’s time to reveal the winners of the contest!

I’d like to extend a big thank you to all of you who entered. I received way more entries than I had originally anticipated. It definitely made things interesting.

So without further ado, your winners are…

Top Tier
wykinyan: 11,390 (+75)

Mid Tier
DeanM1978: 11,073 (-242)
Hot_Waffles: 10,947 (-368)

Low Tier
dwb6: 10,895 (-420)
GohanEgret: 11,777 (+462)
macontosh2000: 10,795 (-520)

The top winner was never in question. Wykinyan was the only person to get within 100 miles of the final mileage. The battle for the Low Tier prizes was much closer though; several of you just barely missed out on making it in.

Winners: please DM me on Twitter with your address and game choice (I’m now following you so you shouldn’t have any issues doing it).

Again, a big thank you to all who entered. This definitely won’t be the last contest I have, so stay tuned to my blog for future updates!

Quick contest correction

3 July 2010 by Mark White, No Comments

It was brought to my attention that Twitter users can’t DM unless I’m following them. Oops! So just to simplify things, send me a reply on Twitter to enter. To everyone who has entered so far, you don’t have to do anything. Thanks to Bigandtasty for pointing that out!

Also, I’ve gotten a few strange guesses. Keep in mind that I’m asking for my final mileage when I return home. Since I started at over 7,000 miles, any answer below that is silly. Make sure that you’re figuring a round trip as well.

Announcing the Road to EVO 2010 Contest!

3 July 2010 by Mark White, No Comments

Alright, guys.  Here’s the deal.  As many of you may have seen from my latest tweet, I’ll be on my way to Los Angeles in just a matter of hours, with my ultimate destination being the Evolution fighting game tournament in Las Vegas next weekend.  Crazy it may be, I have opted to drive the entire way instead of fly just to save a little dough.  So I thought to myself, “Hmm.. I wonder just how many miles I’m going to put on my car doing this…” That leads in to what this contest is all about.

Your goal is to guess just how many miles my car will have on it when I return home on July 13th. My starting mileage is 7,225 miles. The people who guess closest to the actual amount will win!

A couple of things to keep in mind:
• You are guessing the final overall mileage I end up with and not just the mileage it takes for just the trip.
• You can find my location on my Twitter profile. Obviously, using Google Maps is allowed, so that would be a good place to start.
• I will be doing A LOT of miscellaneous driving during the next week, so simply calculating to LA then to Vegas then back here won’t get you anywhere.
• You are allowed to go over on your guess – this isn’t The Price is Right. All that matters is the spread.
• In the improbable case of a tie, there will be a tiebreaker question.

So how do you enter?  It’s very simple.  Make sure you’re following me on Twitter (@RawkusX). Then send me a direct message with your guess.  That’s it!  Do that and you’re in!

And now, to what everyone wants to see… the PRIZES!  Since this is primarily a gaming blog, the prizes are, of course, video games.  I have a ton of games that I just haven’t gotten around to selling, so they are up for grabs here!

THE TOP SIX ALL GET PRIZES! There will be a first place winner (top tier), two second place winners (mid tier), and three third place winners (low tier).  Each person gets to pick what game they want from their respective group.  The top winner in each of the two multi-winner tiers gets priority. If you win and have a question about the condition of a specific game, please message me.

Top Tier (1 Winner – Choose 1 Game)
Beatmania IIDX 9th Style (PS2 – JPN)
Eye of Judgment Bundle (PS3)
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (Wii)
Ico (PS2)
New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)

KORG DS-10 Synthesizer (DS)
Lunar Legend (GBA)
Mega Man Zero 2 (GBA)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (PS2)
Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA)
Phantasy Star Collection (GBA)
Rumble Roses XX (360)
WarioWare: Smooth Moves (Wii)
Zoids: Battle Legends (GC)

Low Tier (3 Winners – Choose 1 Game)
Cubix: Robots for Everyone Showdown (PS2)
Gradius III & IV (PS2)
Marble Madness / Klax (GBA)
Meteos (DS)
Mister Mosquito (PS2)
NHL Hitz Pro (GC)

Panzer Dragoon Orta (Xbox)
Prey (360)
Sid Meier’s Pirates! (Xbox)
Super Monkey Ball Deluxe (Xbox)
Table Tennis (360)
Taito Legends 2 (PS2)
Touchmaster (DS)

There you have it.  The deadline to enter is Friday, July 9.  Any messages after 11:59 PM CDT Friday will not count, so get your guess in early! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments.

Welcome!

2 July 2010 by Mark White, No Comments

Welcome to my blog.  It’s been a long time coming.

I actually purchased this domain way back in March of 2009 and never did anything with it.  So for the last almost year and a half, I’ve been paying for this domain plus a hosting package for no reason!  Splendid, eh?  I finally decided it was time to open this bugger up.

As you can see, there’s not much here yet, but I hope to have some content for you guys very soon. I’m also hoping to customize this theme even further to make it unique for the site; it’s just not any fun to just keep it this generic.

Expect another post later this evening. It’s going to be a special one.  What better way to open a new site than with a little contest?
